Update the access and modification times of each FILE to the current
\ntime.<\/p>\n
A FILE argument that does not exist is created empty, unless -c or -h
\nis supplied.<\/p>\n
A FILE argument string of – is handled specially and causes touch to
\nchange the times of the file associated with standard output.<\/p>\n
Mandatory arguments to long options are mandatory for short options
\ntoo.<\/p>\n
-a\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 change only the access time<\/p>\n
-c, –no-create
\ndo not create any files<\/p>\n
-d, –date=STRING
\nparse STRING and use it instead of current time<\/p>\n

-h, –no-dereference
\naffect each symbolic link instead of any referenced file
\n(useful only on systems that can change the timestamps of a

The –date=STRING is a mostly free format human readable date string
\nsuch as “Sun, 29 Feb 2004 16:21:42 -0800” or “2004-02-29 16:21:42” or
\neven “next Thursday”.\u00a0 A date string may contain items indicating
\ncalendar date, time of day, time zone, day of week, relative time,
\nrelative date, and numbers.\u00a0 An empty string indicates the beginning
\nof the day.\u00a0 The date string format is more complex than is easily
\ndocumented here but is fully described in the info documentation.<\/p>\n
